Do you need the cardboard box?
We have 3 tipes of the cardboard boxes to transport your bike in Japan.
Cardboard box A
For your folding bike
Cardboard box B
For your bike frame only
Cardboard box C
For your full size bike
This guide explains how to assemble cardboard boxes for transporting bicycles on airplanes or via courier service.

*Each cardboard box (A) and (B) is within the maximum size (200cm) allowed by Yamato Transport's courier service,popular delivery service in Japan.
* For shipping folding bicycles, use cardboard box (A).
* For shipping road bikes/MTBs, use cardboard box (B) for the frame, and separately use a wheel bag for the front and rear wheels to carry them.
* For shipping both the frame and wheels together, use cardboard box (C).
However, since it exceeds the maximum size (200cm) , Yamato Transport's courier service cannot be used.
At airports and hotels, please use the JAL ABC delivery service (accommodates up to 260cm).
If checking the bicycle as check in luggage on the plane, please deflate the tires by about half beforehand.
(It is not necessary to deflate them completely.)
To start riding at your destination, be sure to put the air pump in the box.
