This is a long course that runs along the clear Shukuko River. The Shukuko River, where Yamayukihiko (Horinokomito), who appears in Japanese mythology, is said to have taken a bath in the river, is one of the representative clear streams of Suigo Nobeeoka. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely bike ride while viewing the clear stream and the two dams, Hamasuna and Shukuko. The Shukushigawa Hot Spring and Bijin-no-Yu (hot spring) at the turnaround point and the Sato Shochu Distillery, a shochu distillery along the Shukushigawa River, are the best places to take a rest. Cherry blossom season and the season of autumn leaves are recommended.

This is a long course that runs along the beautiful Nippo Coast with its coastline known as Hyuga Matsushima. The road along the prefectural road Uragi Tokai Line is particularly attractive for its peaceful scenery at the mouth of the Kitagawa River and the magnificent view of the Hyuga Sea from the mountain pass. Cycling along the road while gazing at the endless horizon will surely make you realize that the earth is round. The course is rich in variety, including the road along Sumie Beach, selected as one of the 100 best bathing beaches, and Sun Beach Sumie Bridge.

This course starts and ends at Kitaura Roadside Station, a leisure base in the northern part of Nobeoka City, and takes you to Shimoaso Beach, the only "special selection" in Kyushu among the 100 best beaches, and along Kitaura Port, the pride of Miyazaki Prefecture's fishing industry. The old road along the coast is almost completely deserted by cars, and in spring, you will be greeted by rows of cherry trees along the roadside. The roadside station and Kitaura Rinkai Park offer a rest spot where you can eat and shop.

Kawanaka Circular Cycling Course

This course takes you around the western part of the Kawanaka district, sandwiched between the Gokase and Ose Rivers, which are synonymous with Suigo Nobeeoka. The embankment roads and riverside roads developed by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism are mostly flat and easy to drive along, with few vehicles passing by. The embankment on the Gokase River side is called "Konohana Road," and in February, the best cherry blossoms in Japan, Himuka cherry blossoms, and one million rape blossoms welcome visitors.
